Scouting offers fun, challenge and everyday adventure to over 450,000 young people in the UK alone while giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential. The principles of Scouting encourage young people to develop inner discipline, be involved in group activities with others, understand the world around them and help create a more tolerant and caring society.
Young people take part in a wide range of activities that are aimed at challenging them and equipping them with a variety of skills. By doing these activities, they work towards the many awards and badges achievable in Scouting, which include adventure, outdoors, teamwork, team leader, artist, faith, community impact, fire safety, global issues, astronomer, craft, fundraising, water activities and many more.
BMHC Scout Group
Fun, Challenges and Adventure for Young People
BMHC Scout Group was established in November 2014 and is part of the Manchester South Scouts District. We are one of over 70 Muslim Scout groups now set up across the UK. The success of Muslim Scouting can be attributed to the values of Scouts being interconnected to the principles of Islam. The scouting values of integrity, respect, caring, belief and cooperation are all harmonious to Islamic principles and are key characteristics we wish to see in young Muslims today.
As a Muslim Scout group, we provide for our youth the activities they would not normally be able to have access to in an environment that is comfortable for parents. We have three sections in our group, catering for young people aged 6 to 14 years: Beaver Scouts (6 to 8 year olds), Cub Scouts (8 to 10½ year olds) and Scouts (10½ to 14 year olds).
Beaver Scouts (6-8)
Beavers are our youngest members, and meet for an hour and a half per week. They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout Sleepover with their friends
